About Us

In the beginning:

Cloverleaf was born in 1975 in a small two bay garage behind my parents house. Located in Havertown PA; I did both paint and mechanical work here. I moved on to a slightly larger 2 bay garage located in Lima, PA at the first cloverleaf built in the US (where we picked up our name) I pretty much stopped doing paint and body work then but began to do a lot of older and classic cars. I was also doing a lot of work for Roy Levis , Performance Equipment. (further honing my performance skills) In 1979 I moved to a much larger shop in Aston PA.

The Growing Years:

It was while I was located in Aston that we went from being a general repair shop that did Antique, Classics & High Performance vehicles as a side line to specializing in theses same vehicles. While here Cloverleaf Vintage Racing was born. Specializing in Vintage race and rally car preparation we went on to compete in local and long distance vintage rallies and vintage race events. Building, preparing & maintaining vehicles for both myself and customers. We still kept our hand in setting up off road vehicles and high performance modifications to newer vehicles. Cars built and maintained by Cloverleaf were winning on the show fields and on the competition circuits

Where we're going:

In 2005 we moved to our present location in Malvern, PA. Though a bit off the beaten path we are not hard to find and now can offer our customers pickup from the local train station and even the high speed line servicing the entire Northeast region Our goals today are the same as they have always been, to offer you, the motoring public the finest facility in Southeast PA to have your vehicle repaired, maintained, restored or improved, whether it is a classic 1967 MGB, 1929 Model A Ford, 1966 International Pick Up or your 2013 BMW 3 series. Our staff and our facilities are here to make sure all of your motoring needs are met from the show field to the race track, to ensuring your family's safety in your daily driver

In 2015 we began the process of bringing Royale Racing into the Cloverleaf fold and for Cloverleaf to come into the Royale fold. As time goes on most of the Cloverleaf Vintage Racing and Rally will now be handled by our Royale Racing side. We are very excited abot this as it opens up the world of vintage open wheel racing to Cloverleaf and our customers. We will also be able to offer a larger array of track time support and logistics

Would you like to meet the folks who work here?

A bit about our team...

Doing what we do and doing it for as long as we have, there have been many people who have worked at Cloverleaf over the years. Some have gone on to open their own shops, some have become instructors in the automotive field and some have just decided it was a good time to retire and enjoy other things in life. While never being a "large" shop we have run the gamut from the days when it was just Me doing it all to when there were as many as 6 people working here at any given time. Being as picky as we are on who works for us and thus who works on your vehicles it can be a long time till a new face shows up.

Meet the team...

President & founder of Cloverleaf Auto Service Inc. Standing alongside his favorite race car, a very stock 1954 XK120m that races, rallies, the occasional slalom and is driven on the street. This shot was taken at one of the original Brian Redmond Jefferson 500's. The rookie stripes are for his co-driver at the time, Sam Lee, who went on (with Cloverleaf's help) to build and race his own vintage car, a Daimler SP250.

In Memoriam - 1927-2012

People always ask how I wound up with Cloverleaf and how I learned my trade - Funny, I always swore I would not follow my father into the "trade" But I learned by having my own private instructor who just happened to be a master tech and if not for him and my uncle I most likely would never have started Cloverleaf. I know I would never have become who I am without my Father - he is missed.

Josh Shoemaker

Our newest member. Josh worked part time with us as he was finishing high school and then after graduation, (that is josh in the cap and gown with his brother Jared to his left, who also works sometimes with us if he is not off at college) Josh went off to college. After finishing two terms, a bit longer than I stayed, he decided that perhaps college is not where he want so to be right now so has come back to work with us. We expect him to shortly to be much more active in the office as his computer skills leave Art and I in the dust
